Baseball Recap: Walnut Comes Up Short

Walnut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-4 to the Ingomar Falcons. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Falcons when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ingomar, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Walnut will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Potts Camp at 5:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Ingomar, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Ingomar Falcons face off against Wheeler Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Wheeler is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
