Basketball Game Preview: West Anchorage Eagles vs. Dimond Lynx

The West Anchorage Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Dimond Lynx at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Anchorage's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.

West Anchorage is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Bettye Davis East Anchorage, who was ranked eighth at the time (West Anchorage was ranked 11th). The Eagles took down the Thunderbirds 59-44 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Dimond entered their tilt with Chugiak on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 78-45 victory over the Mustangs. The Lynx have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 26 points or more this season.

Dimond's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for West Anchorage, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.

West Anchorage skirted past Dimond 58-56 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lynx turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
