Basketball Recap: Clarksdale Takes a Loss

Clarksdale and Canton squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Clarksdale had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 63-48 to the Canton Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Tigers are ranked 23rd).

Clarksdale is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. As for Canton, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-10.

As of now, neither Clarksdale nor Canton have any future games scheduled.
