Volleyball Recap: Parker/Marion Comes Up Short

If Parker/Marion was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Alcester-Hudson last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pheasants took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hanson Beavers on Tuesday. The Pheasants were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Beavers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 11-25, 25-18.

Loss or not, Parker/Marion got some senior leadership from Braelyn Berens and Mara Mohr. Berens had 23 digs and two aces, while Mohr had 17 digs and nine assists. Berens is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Parker/Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Hanson, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Parker/Marion will venture away from home to square off against Irene/Wakonda at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hanson, they will head out to challenge Menno at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
