Basketball Recap: Pewitt Falls Despite Big Games from Zahkevion Betts and Wesley Smith

Pewitt lost against Rivercrest back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pewitt Brahmas took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rivercrest Rebels.

Despite the loss, Pewitt had strong showings from Wesley Smith, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Zahkevion Betts, who posted 12 points and three steals. James Smith was another key player, putting up four points.

Pewitt's defeat dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Rivercrest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-21.

Looking ahead, Pewitt is taking a road trip to face off against Union Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rivercrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
