Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Placid). Everything went their way against the Boquet Valley Griffins on Monday as they made off with a 24-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bombers in their matchups with the Griffins: they've now won six in a row.

Jonathan Caito and Vann Morrelli made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Caito pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Morrelli tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Caito has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Caito went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Morrelli went 2-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. With that strong performance, Morrelli is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game.
In other batting news, Hyler Isham and Owen Lawrence did most of the damage at the plate: Isham went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI, while Lawrence got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Isham continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Smith, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Lake Placid always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Lake Placid pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Boquet Valley, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
Coincidentally, Lake Placid and Boquet Valley will both be playing Chazy the next time they take the field. The Bombers will host the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Griffins will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
