Baseball Game Preview: Summit Storm vs. Caldera

For the second straight game, Summit will face off against Caldera. The Storm will host Caldera at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Summit's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Caldera's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Summit's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Caldera 9-0. Considering the Storm have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Caldera's part, Griffin Sanchez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits Sanchez has allowed since back in May of 2024.

Caldera is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15. As for Summit, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.
