Game recap: Gilbert Christian High School Football Team tops Ajo

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Bailey Anderson to Colton Kelly in the first quarter, Gilbert Christian (Gilbert, Ariz.) was up 48-0 at the half.

The Knights expanded their lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. Gilbert Christian scored once in the quarter on a Anderson touchdown pass to Andrew Sherman.

With the win GC extended its winning streak to seven games. Gilbert Christian defeated Valley Lutheran 53-50 last week.

Ajo's only touchdown came on a 9-yard run by Felix Corona in the third quarter.

Coming into the game the Gilbert school had allowed 25.3 points per game this year.



The loss was the third in a row for Ajo (Ariz.).

In a VI Section V (8 Man) game next week Ajo (2-4) takes on San Pasqual Valley, and Gilbert Christian (7-0) will go up against Mesa Prep also in a VI Section V (8 Man) game.
