Preview: Early Longhorns vs. Brady Bulldogs
The Early Longhorns will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brady Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Early's four-game losing streak came to an end two Fridays ago. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over Ballinger.
Griffin Cheslock was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Rohyn Price, who threw for 245 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Ballinger to a paltry 53 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Early's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Dalton Adams and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, Brady made easy work of San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy on Friday and carried off a 38-18 victory. Brady pushed the score to 24-0 by the end of the third, a deficit San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy cut but never quite recovered from.
Among those leading the charge was Daryl Adair, who rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-4.
Early strolled past Brady when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 41-27. Does Early have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brady turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
