Baseball Recap: Truman Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Truman can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eureka Wildcats a 3-0 shutout. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

The result came thanks to Cade Pleacher's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.

On the hitting side, Truman's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Ottens, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Ottens a new career-high.

Truman's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Eureka, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Truman will head out to face off against Chrisman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.77 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eureka, they will host Rockwood Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
