Meanwhile, Klein Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Klein Collins 41-8. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 486th, while the Tigers are ranked 16th).
Tomball will have to keep a close watch on James Robinson and Dejaune Etheridge, a pair of players who had a big impact on Klein Forest's prior game. Robinson threw for 202 yards and one TD, while Etheridge picked up 84 receiving yards and one score.
Tomball has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Thomas and Etheridge. Thomas just won't slow down this season and has averaged 116.1 rushing yards per game. Etheridge has been a dominant force too and has averaged 87.7 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Tomball against Klein Forest when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
