Basketball Recap: Sarasota Military Academy Comes Up Short

Sarasota Military Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Hollins Royals, falling 69-23. The Eagles were probably out for revenge after losing 59-19 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hollins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alem Custic, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Those 18 points gave Custic a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrell O'Conner, who posted 15 points along with five assists and three steals.

Sarasota Military Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Hollins, their win ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14.

Sarasota Military Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-29 loss against Bayshore Christian on the 31st. Hollins has also already played their next contest, a 54-51 defeat against Steinbrenner on the 3rd.
