Basketball Game Preview: Hewitt-Trussville Huskies vs. Vestavia Hills Rebels

Hewitt-Trussville is 2-8 against Vestavia Hills since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies will take on the Vestavia Hills Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Hewitt-Trussville sitting on four straight wins and Vestavia Hills on seven.

Last Thursday, Hewitt-Trussville blew past Clay-Chalkville, posting a 59-27 victory. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Vestavia Hills strolled past Thompson with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 78-59. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Warriors are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hewitt-Trussville has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Vestavia Hills, they pushed their record up to 26-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hewitt-Trussville came up short against Vestavia Hills when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 60-48. Can Hewitt-Trussville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
