Basketball Recap: Pallotti Piles Up the Points Against Westlake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Frances Academy, Pallotti was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 78-42 victory over the Westlake Wolverines. That looming 78-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Westlake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Cypress, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Damian Gore, who put up eight points.

With the win, Pallotti broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Westlake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Pallotti Panthers take on the GVCS Broadfording Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. GVCS Broadfording is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season. As for Westlake, they will be taking part in a tournament against Oxon Hill at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Oxon Hill will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Westlake surely won't give up without a fight.
