Softball Game Preview: Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines vs. Lansdowne Vikings

For the second straight game, Western Tech & Environmental Science will face off against Lansdowne. The Wolverines will face off against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Western Tech & Environmental Science has six straight wins, Lansdowne has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Western Tech & Environmental Science barely beat Lansdowne the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines blew past the Vikings 13-2 on Friday. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Ella Durham made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Bailey Allen and Juliahna Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Allen went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Thomas got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Thomas has been hot, having posted at least one home run the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nicole Camacho, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Western Tech & Environmental Science was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They are 9-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Western Tech & Environmental Science pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
