Softball Recap: Akins Takes a Loss

Akins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-1 to the Del Valle Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Akins saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Rae Ramos, who went 2-for-4 with one double. Brianna Yanez also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Akins' loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Del Valle, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Akins will take on rival Dripping Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Del Valle is set to challenge their familiar foe Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
