Volleyball Recap: Lauren Velez and Raelyn Shaver Secure Win for Pebble Hills

There's no place like home for Pebble Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Burges Mustangs 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Pebble Hills had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 26-24, 25-16.

Leading Pebble Hills to victory were Raelyn Shaver and Lauren Velez. Shaver had 40 assists and 11 digs, while Velez had 17 digs and two aces. Those 40 assists gave Shaver a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abbie Carrillo, who had 12 digs.

Pebble Hills' victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Burges, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pebble Hills will take on Hanks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burges, they will square off against Young Women's Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
