Basketball Recap: Palmer Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brookelyn Watts and Kenli Dobie

Palmer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 49-38 to the Blooming Grove Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 34-29 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Palmer's loss came despite strong showings from Kenli Dobie and Brookelyn Watts. Dobie dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Watts dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. Watts has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played.

Palmer's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Blooming Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Palmer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-23 win against Prairiland on the 26th. As for Blooming Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 45-30 victory against Dawson on the 26th.
