Basketball Preview: Classical Magnet Gladiators vs. Achievement First
The Classical Magnet Gladiators will head out on the road to challenge Achievement First at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Classical Magnet has four straight wins, the have six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Classical Magnet earned a 65-54 victory over the Bulldogs.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-47, which was the final score in Achievement First's tilt against the Trailblazers on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Achievement First in their matchups with the Trailblazers: they've now lost four in a row.
Classical Magnet has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Achievement First, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Classical Magnet against the in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 84-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Classical Magnet since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
