Basketball Game Preview: Father Lopez Green Wave vs. Orangewood Christian Rams

After both having extra time off, the Father Lopez Green Wave and the Orangewood Christian Rams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, Father Lopez came up short against Jupiter and fell 66-53. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Warriors are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Orangewood Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They secured a 58-54 W over Lake Mary Prep last Friday.

Father Lopez's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Orangewood Christian, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.

Everything came up roses for Father Lopez against Orangewood Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, as the squad secured an 85-50 victory. Will Father Lopez repeat their success, or does Orangewood Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
