Softball Game Preview: Huntsville Eagles vs. Springdale Bulldogs

The Huntsville Eagles will head out to square off against the Springdale Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntsville is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Huntsville and West Fork have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. Huntsville took a 20-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Fork.

Kassidy Oberan led a balanced group of hitters, going 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Rogers, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Even though they lost, Huntsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Thursday. Springdale came up short against Fayetteville, falling 18-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Springdale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Huntsville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Huntsville might still be hurting after the 16-4 defeat they got from Springdale when the teams last played back in April of 2018. Can Huntsville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
