Baseball Recap: Riverside Prep Takes a Loss

Riverside Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colony Titans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Titans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-1 loss back in March.

Riverside Prep got a good showing from Logan Sarkesian, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Sarkesian has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riverside Prep saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayman Pluma, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Riverside Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Colony, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

Coming up, Riverside Prep will welcome University Prep at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Silver Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Colony, they will take on Chaffey at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Titans are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
