Soccer Game Preview: Grant Community vs. Grayslake North

Grant Community hasn't had much luck against Grayslake North recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will host the Knights at 6:15 p.m. Grant Community has given up an average of 2.9 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Grant Community is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Lakes, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Grant Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Lakes are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Grayslake North got the win against Antioch on Tuesday by a conclusive 6-3. The result was nothing new for Grayslake North, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Grayslake North and bumps their season record up to 8-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those two contests. As for Grant Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1.

Grant Community might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Grayslake North in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
