League recap: Marshall bests Belleville/Albany in blowout

Marshall took down Belleville/Albany 55-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Cardinals led Capitol - South in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on the Wildcats.

Belleville/Albany's dynamic duo of Tanner Wallom and Jacob Miller proved tough for Marshall to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wallom threw for 91 yards and two touchdowns and Miller had 56 yards receiving. Garrison Woods helped Belleville/Albany's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.

Jack Nett was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 203 yards as Cambridge lost to Matt Kleinheinz's team.

Thanks to the talents of John Garlewski and Nett the Bluejays have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Garlewski leads the league in passing with 620 yards, while Nett has rushed for 693 yards this season. The Wildcats' Woods leads the league in receiving yards with 266 on nine catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Waterloo takes on the Cardinals. The Pirates are currently in third, while Marshall is in second.

There should be lots of points scored when Belleville/Albany and Cambridge face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Wildcats comes in having scored 77 this season, while Mike Klingbeil's team has scored 128. Belleville/Albany scored 13 points last week as it fell to the Cardinals.

New Glarus/Monticello made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,282 from 6,911. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 19-6 victory over the Bluejays last week.
