Basketball Recap: Leo Hodal's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Vincent De Paul Academy over Whitefield Academy

St. Vincent de Paul Academy lost against Whitefield Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The St. Vincent de Paul Academy Hawks came up short against the Whitefield Academy Lions, falling 65-41. The Hawks were down 60-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Leo Hodal, who posted ten points. Hodal has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Franklin Greene was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Whitefield Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-31 win against Guadalupe Centers on the 15th. As for Whitefield Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Shawnee Mission Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Whitefield Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
