Softball Recap: Delone Catholic Comes Up Short

Delone Catholic lost against Biglerville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Squires took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canners. The Squires have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Teagan Funkhouser made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Jill Sherdel was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Delone Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Biglerville, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Delone Catholic will head out to take on Big Spring at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Biglerville, they will welcome New Oxford at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
