Soccer Game Preview: Charlotte Christian vs. Cannon

The Charlotte Christian Knights will face off against the Cannon Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Charlotte Christian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 11 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Things were looking good for Charlotte Christian after they put the first goal on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Providence Day by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Providence Day are ranked 69th).

Meanwhile, Cannon hadn't done well against Covenant Day recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that Cannon have won by just one goal.

The win made it two in a row for Cannon and bumps their season record up to 10-7-1. As for Charlotte Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10-1.
