Basketball Game Preview: Ethan Rustlers vs. Canistota Hawks

Ethan is 2-8 against Canistota since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ethan Rustlers will head out to take on the Canistota Hawks at 7:45 p.m. One thing working in Ethan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

Last Tuesday, Ethan was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Bridgewater/Emery.

Meanwhile, Canistota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 65-34 loss at the hands of Parkston. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Trojans are ranked 11th).

Canistota's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Ethan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Ethan skirted past Canistota 59-57 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ethan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
