Baseball Preview: Jamestown Red & Green vs. West Seneca West Warhawks
The Jamestown Red & Green will head out on the road to take on the West Seneca West Warhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Jamestown will be strutting in after a victory while West Seneca West will be coming in after a loss.
Jamestown headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for six straight, but Fredonia let them put that streak behind them. The Red & Green walked away with a 12-8 win over the Hillbillies on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red & Green as it spelled an end to their ten-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, West Seneca West came up short against Bishop Timon-St. Jude on Saturday and fell 7-3. The Warhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brady Coughlin put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Coughlin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Coughlin wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jude Khoury, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Jamestown's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for West Seneca West, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
