Olmsted Falls dropped down to 9-9 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 12-2 to the Midview Middies. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 13th.
Olmsted Falls got a good showing from Quade Hess, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Hess has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cam Pesch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Olmsted Falls' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't).
As for Midview, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games.
On Midview's side, Benjamin Szczepanski made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Szczepanski was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Brayden Widenmeyer looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Midview got a massive performance out of Jake Ellis, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Ellis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kellen DeSimone, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Coming up, Olmsted Falls is taking a road trip to challenge North Olmsted at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Midview, they will face off against Avon Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
