Softball Game Preview: Dickson County Cougars vs. Rossview Hawks

The Dickson County Cougars will face off against the Rossview Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Dickson County 2.4, Rossview 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Dickson County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Fairview, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. Dickson County's pitchers stepped up to hand Fairview a 9-0 shutout on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won four games in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kailey Beene, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Burr, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Rossview came up short against Stewart County on Friday and fell 6-2. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rossview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Rauscher, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Dickson County's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Rossview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Dickson County was able to grind out a solid victory over Rossview in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Will Dickson County repeat their success, or does Rossview has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
