Baseball Recap: Gretna Takes a Loss

Gretna lost against Dan River back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hawks fell 6-1 to the Wildcats.

Gretna saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Walden, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Owen Shelton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Gretna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Dan River, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gretna will square off against rival Altavista at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dan River is set to face off against their familiar foe Appomattox County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
