Football Game Preview: King Crusaders vs. Trenton Trojans

The King Crusaders will square off against the Trenton Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

King is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Riverview 36-6. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Pirates are ranked 141st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Trenton's offense rose to the challenge against an Eagles defense that boasted an average of only 14.1 points allowed on Saturday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 42-22 margin over Thurston. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

King better focus on containing Anthony Hawkins and Tyler Crook as the pair were huge in Trenton's win. Hawkins rushed for 125 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, while Crook rushed for 196 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Crook's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.

Trenton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 406 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thurston only rushed for eight.

King's record now sits at 6-4. As for Trenton, their record is now an identical 6-4.
