Softball Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

Southwestern lost against Lancaster back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 8-1 to the Flying Arrows. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southwestern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Lewerke, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That run was Lewerke's first of the season.

Southwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Lancaster, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Southwestern will be playing at home against Boscobel at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 22 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lancaster, they will head out to square off against Platteville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
