Softball Game Preview: Penn Yan Academy Mustangs vs. Bloomfield Bombers

The Penn Yan Academy Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Bloomfield Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Penn Yan Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 17 straight losses, while Bloomfield will come in with eight straight victories.

Penn Yan Academy came up short against Midlakes on Monday, falling 17-3.

Bloomfield came out on top against Palmyra-Macedon on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Bombers never let the Red Raiders get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Marlee Poole, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. L Nowak also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bloomfield's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.1 runs on average over those games. As for Penn Yan Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.

Penn Yan Academy might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Bloomfield in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
