Baseball Recap: Absegami Gets the Win

While Absegami's win against Middle Township wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Braves won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 6-5.

Connor Harless looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Absegami is 4-0-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aaron Gilger, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Madon Wardwell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Absegami's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4-1. As for Middle Township, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Absegami will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
