Football Recap: West Chicago Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Ridgewood last Friday, West Chicago came back down to earth. The Wildcats were beaten by the South Elgin Storm 46-14 on Friday. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.

Despite the loss, West Chicago saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joel Montgomery picked up 70 receiving yards, and also rushed for 62 yards. Montgomery was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 68 yards. Carter Naranjo helped out on the ground, rushing for 93 yards.

West Chicago's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for South Elgin, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

West Chicago didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 61-6 victory against Elmwood Park on the 3rd. As for South Elgin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 49-0 win against Streamwood on the 3rd.
