Soccer Game Preview: Aurora Central vs. Skyview

The Aurora Central Trojans will head out to take on the Skyview Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Aurora Central's offense. They came up short against Vista PEAK Prep on Wednesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Aurora Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Vista PEAK Prep are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Skyview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Thornton by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. Skyview haven't had any issues with Thornton recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Erwing Cabrera was the driving force of Skyview's attack as he scored both of Skyview's goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

The victory got Skyview back to even at 5-5-1. As for Aurora Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-1 record this season.

Aurora Central suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Skyview in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
