Basketball Recap: Southland Christian Skates Past Academy of Central Florida with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Southland Christian had no problem doing just that on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Academy of Central Florida Golden Bulls 87-50. The FLAMES have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Southland Christian found their leader in sophomore Sebastian Rivera, who went 12-for-15 to rack up 33 points and three steals. Rivera also set a new season-high mark in shooting accuracy with 80%. Carlos Escalera Jr. was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 12 points along with six assists and six boards.

Southland Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.5 points. As for Academy of Central Florida, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Southland Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pathways at 6:45 a.m. on March 7th. Academy of Central Florida does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
