Soccer Game Preview: O'Connor vs. Brennan

The O'Connor Panthers will head out to square off against the Brennan Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

O'Connor will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Harlan on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 4-1 victory. Considering O'Connor have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Brennan kept a clean sheet against Wagner on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Thunderbirds. Given Brennan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Wagner are ranked 516th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ashley Aguilar and Liana Arizmendez scored both of Brennan's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Brennan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for O'Connor, their record now sits at 6-3.
