Football Game Preview: Gila Bend Gila Monsters vs. Ajo Red Raiders

The Gila Bend Gila Monsters will face off against the Ajo Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gila Bend's defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so Ajo's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Ajo will be up against a hot Gila Bend team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Gila Monsters claimed a resounding 30-0 victory over Wickenburg Christian Academy. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Gila Monsters' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Lion are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Ajo's offense. They took a blow against Berean Academy on Friday, falling 54-0. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Red Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ajo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Gila Bend, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Gila Bend came up short against Ajo in their previous matchup back in September, falling 28-24. Can the Gila Monsters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
