Baseball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington was the 6-3 winner over Colbert Heights when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Lexington Golden Bears fell 12-7 to the Colbert Heights Wildcats on Thursday.

Zane Kilburn was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Preston Jones also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lexington dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Colbert Heights, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-7 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lexington will host Shoals Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up.
