Baseball Game Preview: Arlington Red Devils vs. Upper Scioto Valley Rams

The Arlington Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Upper Scioto Valley Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arlington is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Arlington lost 18-3 to Elmwood on Monday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upper Scioto Valley). Everything went their way against Waynesfield-Goshen on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Jesse Prater made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. He has become a key player for Upper Scioto Valley: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 3-9 otherwise. Prater was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Upper Scioto Valley got a massive performance out of Caiden Lowery, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Lowery has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Andrue Kindle was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

Upper Scioto Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.

Upper Scioto Valley's record is now 5-10. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Arlington might still be hurting after the 19-7 defeat they got from Upper Scioto Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
