Football Recap: Anthony Bunn Leads Upper St. Clair's Defense on Friday

Upper St. Clair is still undefeated this season after their match against McKeesport on Friday, but McKeesport came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Panthers skirted past the Tigers 17-14. The 17-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Ethan Hellmann had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 61 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 152 yards and one TD. Those 61 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Drew Sanderson also deserves some recognition as he rushed for his first rushing yards of the season.

Upper St. Clair's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Anthony Bunn with two sacks. The game marked his first with multiple sacks this season.

Upper St. Clair's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for McKeesport, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-3.

Coming up, Upper St. Clair will challenge Peters Township at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 3.5 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for McKeesport, they will face off against Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
