South Summit is on a three-game streak of home losses, Summit Academy a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck is about to change on Friday. The South Summit Wildcats will host the Summit Academy Bears at 7:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 45-14, which was the final score in South Summit's tilt against Layton Christian Academy on Friday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit Academy). They took down American Leadership Academy 47-28 on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Summit Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bronson Dixon, who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Dixon has posted since back in October of 2023. Another pass catcher making a difference was Kyle Lively, who picked up 172 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Summit Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Tug Wilbur was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sackshimself. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Summit Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

South Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Summit Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

South Summit was able to grind out a solid win over Summit Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, winning 45-33. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Summit Academy's Aden Stines, who threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and a touchdown.
