Recap: Discovery Canyon Thunder vs. Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks
The Discovery Canyon Thunder can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over Cheyenne Mountain. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Discovery Canyon as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Discovery Canyon was led to victory by Natalie Neuhaus and Meghan Storch. Neuhaus scored 14 points along with four steals, while Storch scored 13 points along with two steals. Storch has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Ackerman, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Cheyenne Mountain still got an impressive performance from Ainsley Norton, who scored 26 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Norton has scored all season.
Discovery Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Discovery Canyon will take on Lewis-Palmer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Palmer Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Palmer Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
