Coxsackie-Athens and Taconic Hills are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Riverhawks will head out to face off against the Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Coxsackie-Athens has three wins , while Taconic Hills has five dating back to last season).

While Coxsackie-Athens' win against Maple Hill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Riverhawks had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 8-7.

Meanwhile, Taconic Hills made easy work of Catskill on Monday and carried off a 9-1 victory. Considering the Titans have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaylin Brazie made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rachel Brazie, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Adele Crayton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Coxsackie-Athens pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 9.9 runs thus far. As for Taconic Hills, their record now sits at 5-0.

Everything went Coxsackie-Athens' way against Taconic Hills in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Coxsackie-Athens made off with a 19-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Riverhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
