Baseball Recap: Grosse Pointe South Extends Winning Streak to Three

Grosse Pointe South entered their tilt with L'Anse Creuse North on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Crusaders. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by six runs or more this season.

Dane Lezotte was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Andrew Dilodovico was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Evan Bernard, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Grosse Pointe South's record now sits at 23-4. As for L'Anse Creuse North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grosse Pointe South will square off against Mt. Pleasant at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for L'Anse Creuse North, they will challenge Monroe at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
