Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson County Christian Royals vs. Portersville Christian

The Jefferson County Christian Royals will venture away from home to challenge Portersville Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson County Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Jefferson County Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mark Jenkins out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. Jenkins is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Lee Gump was another key player, going 6 for 9 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Jefferson County Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Portersville Christian was beaten by Chester Charter Scholars Academy 107-40 two weeks ago. Portersville Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jefferson County Christian's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Portersville Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Jefferson County Christian came up short against Portersville Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 58-48. Can Jefferson County Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
