Basketball Game Preview: South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls vs. Albemarle Bulldogs

South Stanly is 2-8 against Albemarle since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls will welcome the Albemarle Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

South Stanly is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 29th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a blow against Forest Hills, falling 65-21. While losing is never fun, the Rowdy Rebel Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 148th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Albemarle). They blew past Magna Vista 80-59 on Saturday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Albemarle has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.5 points. As for South Stanly, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

South Stanly took a serious blow against Albemarle in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 82-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Albemarle's Amari Baldwin, who went 10 of 17 on her way to 21 points and six steals.
